Tour Director

This tour will be led by David Brotherson, an archaeologist and long-term resident of Siem Reap, Cambodia, where he has lectured and led tour groups for over a decade. Growing up near Sydney, Australia, his fascination with world history and archaeology was born in the civilisations of the ancient Mediterranean and later turned to the enigmatic temples of Angkor Wat. He subsequently joined the University of Sydney’s Greater Angkor Project, an international, multi-disciplinary research programme into the city’s development, daily life and decline. David’s research investigates Angkorian urbanism and decline, using remote sensing, field survey and GIS to analyse its urban history, demise and transformation. He received his PhD in Archaeology from the University of Sydney in 2020.
