Depart London Heathrow 2215 on Emirates for overnight flight via Dubai.
Arrive Dubai 0805. Depart Dubai on Emirates 1000, arriving Seoul 2315, and transfer to Four Points by Sheraton Hotel for four nights.
Introductory lecture followed by optional visit to the market in Seoul or free time.
Seoul: National Museum of Korea, Jongmyo Ancestral Shrine, Changdeokgung Palace.
Seoul: Gyeongbokgung Palace, National Folk Museum, Jogyesa Temple, Myeongdong Cathedral.
Via Suwon Hwaseong Fortress to Gongju: National Museum, replica Royal Tomb of King Muryeong, Gongsanseong Fortress. Overnight stay at Lacky Hotel, Cheongju.
Via Beopjusa Temple to Andong area: Byeongsan Seowon Confucian Academy, Beongjeongsa Temple, Dosan Seowon Confucian Academy. Transfer to Hyuandai Hotel, Gyeongju for two nights.
Gyeongju (Silla sites): Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram Grotto, National Museum, Donggung Palace with Anapji Pond and Cheomseongdae Observatory.
Transfer to Busan for visits to Jagalchi Market and Gukje Market. Transfer to Fukouka by overnight ferry.
Arrive Fukouka for visits to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine and Kyushu National Museum. Transfer to New Otani Hakata Hotel, Fukouka for two nights.
Whole day excursion to Takachiho Gorge. Free evening.
Transfer to Matsue along scenic coastal route, with visits to Iwami Ginzan and Izumo Shrine and Museum, for two nights at a traditional ryokan at Ushio-so.
Adachi Museum of Art and Adachi Gardens, Matsue Castle and Lafcadio Hearn Memorial Museum.
Transfer to Nara for two nights at Nikko Nara Hotel. Todaiji Temple (colossal bronze Buddha), Nara Deer Park and Kasuga Grand Shrine.
Kashihara Jingu Shrine, Asuka Historical Museum, Kitora Tomb, Horyuji Temple.
Byodo-in Temple, Fushimi Inari Shrine (thousands of vermillion torii gates), Nijo-jo Castle. Transfer to Royal Park Hotel, Kyoto for overnight stay.
Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion exterior), Ryoanji Temple and some free time. Transfer to Kansai International Airport for overnight Emirates flight to Dubai, departing 2345.
Arrive Dubai 0515. Depart Dubai on Emirates 0940, arriving London Heathrow 1425.
