This archaeological tour takes a close look at the Highland area around Inverness, the heartland of the Picts which many experts consider the chief power centre in the early medieval period.
• Admire and interpret the enigmatic carved Pictish stones, covered in elaborate geometric and zoomorphic imagery.
• Put the Pictish tribes into context with an examination of their Bronze Age predecessors, as well as later medieval and Jacobite history.
• Enjoy the attractive scenery on both sides of the Moray Firth and along part of Loch Ness.
