Tour assembles 1500 at the Francis Hotel, Bath, for four nights. Welcome and introduction. Morning visit to the Holburne Museum. Afternoon performance at the Assembly Rooms featuring BBC New Generation Artists including Elisabeth Brauss (piano), Aleksey Semenenko (violin), Eivind Ringstad (viola) and Andrei Ionita (cello): Schubert String Trio in B flat major, D 471; Mozart Twelve Variations on ‘Ah vous dirais-je Maman’, K 265; Mozart Duo No 1 in G major for Violin and Viola, K 423; Schumann Fantasiestücke, Op 73; Mozart Piano Quartet in E flat major, K 493. Morning lecture: An Overview of Mozart’s Life in Portraits, followed by free time. Afternoon performance at the Assembly Rooms featuring the Nash Ensemble with Marianne Thorsen (violin), Timothy Ridout (viola), Richard Hosford (clarinet), Richard Watkins (horn) and Alasdair Beatson (piano): Mozart Clarinet Trio in E flat, K 498 ‘Kegelstatt’; Bruch Andante (‘Romanian Melody’) from Eight Pieces, Op 83; Brahms Trio in E flat major, Op 40. Afternoon: optional visit to the Herschel Museum. Evening performance at the Assembly Rooms featuring Belcea String Quartet: Mozart String Quartet in F major, K 590; Shostakovich String Quartet No 14 in F sharp major, Op 142; Brahms String Quartet in C minor, Op 51, No 1.
Morning: guided tour of Bath Abbey followed by performance at the Assembly Rooms featuring Leonore Piano Trio: Mozart Piano Trio in B flat major, K 502; Dvořák Piano Trio No 4 in E minor, Op 90 ‘Dumky’; Mendelssohn Piano Trio No 2 in C minor, Op 66. Afternoon lecture followed by evening performance (or string orchestra) at the Assembly Rooms featuring English Chamber Orchestra with Stephanie Gonley (leader/violin), Adam Walker (flute) and Sally Pryce (harp): Grieg Holberg Suite for string orchestra, Op 40; Mozart Concerto in C major for Flute & Harp, K 299; Schubert Symphony No 5 in B flat major, D 485.

FITNESS / PRACTICALITIES
This tour is not expected to be particularly strenuous, however please note that the majority of our visits, including getting to and from the Assembly Rooms, will be made on foot and the terrain can sometimes be cobbled and hilly. Our hotel is approximately 400m (around fifteen minutes on foot) from the Assembly Rooms. Participants should feel comfortable with this and meet ACE’s usual fitness requirements (see our booking terms and conditions for more details).
Cost of £1395 includes: accommodation based on sharing a classic twin or double bedded room, performances as described (subject to final programme details), breakfast, dinner with water & coffee, excursions & admissions, gratuities.
Not included: travel insurance, comfort double room for single use supplement £160.
