Depart Heathrow 1105 on British Airways, arriving Pisa 1410. Transfer to Florence for seven nights at the Grand Hotel Cavour. Orientation walking tour including the Badia Fiorentina, Bargello, Palazzo Vecchio, Palazzo della Signoria, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, Orsanmichele, Duomo and Baptistery. Evening lecture: Civic and Ecclesiastical Patronage in Siena.
Morning: San Lorenzo (Medicis’ parish church, commissioned from Brunelleschi), Cappelle Medicee (Michelangelo’s New Sacristy containing Mannerist tombs). Afternoon: Visit to Museo dell’Opera del Duomo.
