David Hurrion
Biography
With over four decades of gardening knowledge, practical experience and botanical and scientific training, David Hurrion has worked in gardens and nurseries around the UK and has travelled extensively abroad discovering plants and gardens, both independently and while accompanying groups.
As a trained teacher, he has taught a range of subjects from botany, soil science and plant identification to propagation, garden design and crop production. Standing out as one of Britain's most respected growing authorities, David has also published for BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine and appeared on TV and radio.
He has also designed, built and planted show gardens and display stands at many major garden shows, including the world-famous Chelsea Flower Show, where he was a Show Judge for 2025, and is a Show Judge for the Royal Horticultural Society. David is a popular figure in the horticultural world, respected for his knowledge by nurserymen, professional gardeners, journalists and the gardening public.
