Dr Evelyn Silber (FMA, FSA) is an art historian and former Director of Leeds Museums and Galleries and of the Hunterian Museum, University of Glasgow. Evelyn studied at Cambridge and the University of Pennsylvania before becoming a curator at Birmingham Museums and Art Galleries and has a wide range of expertise, having been a medievalist before turning to early 20th century. She has written extensively on modernist sculpture in Britain (Epstein and Gaudier-Brzeska) and the marketing of modern art. She has been based in Scotland for some years and currently works in the conservation, presentation and marketing of Scottish heritage.
