Our programme for 2013 covers many aspects of British, European and world archaeology and includes tours of Hadrian’s Wall, the Lake District, Greece, Turkey and Mexico.

We examine the architectural achievements of Sir Christopher Wren and Palladio in 2013, as well as exploring country houses and churches. We also visit exotic architecture in Burma and Karelia and Archangel.

Art

Art in Yorkshire contrasts with Art on the Cote d'Azur, Art Nouveau in Brussels and Leonardo in Milan in our art tour programme of 2013. Further art treasures are revealed in Poland, China and Finland.

In 2012 our selection of Christmas and New Year itineraries covers some of Europe’s finest art, architecture and music in Budapest and Istanbul, we well as dramatic celebratory firework displays in Madeira.

Cultural Cruises

On our small ship cruises – for between 15 and 45 participants – we explore the Galapagos islands as well as the Lycian coast of Turkey and ancient Egypt from the Nile.

Our 2013 English Heritage Travel collection of 25 tours covers many themes and destinations, from Derbyshire Halls & Houses, Yorkshire Minsters & Monasteries to the World of St Cuthbert & St Bede.

Although we don’t offer any gastronomy tours in 2013 many tours offer local cuisine of very high quality, not least our cruises in Provence and the Scottish Highlands and Islands.

Colonial Colombia and Secret War both feature in our 2013 historical themed tour programme, along with Historic Malta and Roman and Byzantine Ravenna.

In 2013 we visit historic halls and houses in Norfolk, Derbyshire and North Yorkshire. Further afield we tour palaces in Poland and St Petersburg as well as villas and gardens in Italy.

Music

Music

Our music tours in 2013 encompass Royal Opera in Covent Garden, Wagner’s Ring Cycle in Munich as well as festivals in Edinburgh and West Cork. We also hear Haydn in Eisenstadt and Schubert in Schwarzenberg.

Natural History

Natural History

Our 2013 programme includes Galapagos and the Amazon rain forest, the rugged isle of Corsica and the contrasting landscapes of Ethiopia while in early 2014 we explore the wildlife hidden in the foothills of Nepal.

Theatre

On each of our tours to Shakespeare’s Stratford in 2013 we see three RSC performances at both the Swan Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Theatre as well as gaining insight to life behind the scenes.
