Depart Heathrow 0925 on British Airways, arriving Vienna 1250. Transfer to Hotel Johann Strauss for four nights. Stephansplatz: Cathedral of St Stephen and Diözesanmuseum.
Hofburg complex: Augustinerkirche and Imperial Treasury. Afternoon: Stadtpalais Liechtenstein followed by Gartenpalais Liechtenstein.
Karlsplatz: walk past Secession building to the Academy of Fine Arts, followed by Albertina. Afternoon: National Library and Kunsthistorisches Museum (Vienna’s famous fine art museum) followed by free time to visit the Leopold Museum. Free evening.
Schönbrunn: imperial apartments and grounds. Afternoon: tour of Steinhof Church followed by Kahlenberg (memorial church for 1683 siege with view of the city).
Karlskirche (outstanding Baroque church with lift to the cupola). Lower and Upper Belvedere Palace (Österreichische Galerie, Barockmuseum). Depart Vienna 1655, arriving Heathrow 1820.
