Depart London Gatwick 0925, arriving Rīga 1405 on Air Baltic. Transfer to Hotel Gutenbergs, Rīga, for five nights. Welcome and introduction.
Whole day excursion to Bauska Castle and Rundāle Palace.
Morning lecture followed by guided walk around Rīga’s old town: churches of St Peter and St John, Town Hall Square, cathedral, Museum of the Occupation of Latvia. Some free time, followed by evening festival opera: Donizetti Don Pasquale.
Morning canal trip and free time. Afternoon: Latvian National Museum of Art. Evening festival opera: Poulenc Dialogues des Carmélites.
