Depart London Heathrow 0900 on British Airways, arriving Munich 1155. Transfer to Füssen for two nights at Hotel Schlosskrone.
Visits to Neuschwanstein Castle (designed by Ludwig II in the 13th century Romanesque style) and Hohenschwangau Castle (neoclassical childhood home of Ludwig II).
Morning: Garmisch-Partenkirchen for visit to Richard Strauss Institute with piano recital and Mittenwald for visit to Geingenbau Museum (violin-making museum). Afternoon: transfer to hotel closer to Oberammergau for two nights.
Lecture: History of the Oberammergau Passion Play followed by visit to Oberammergau Museum. Afternoon: Part One of the Passion Play. Evening: Part Two of the Passion Play.
Travel along Deutsche Alpenstrasse for visits to 14th century Benedictine monastery at Ettal, Rococo church in Rottenbuch, Welfen church in Steingaden and Wieskirche (architectural masterpiece by Dominikus Zimmermann). Continue to Füssen for two nights at Hotel Schlosskrone.
Travel via secluded valley of Ammergauer Alps for visit to Schloss Linderhof (villa-style palace built by Ludwig II). Afternoon: free time in Füssen.
Transfer to Munich for 1245 departure, arriving Heathrow 1350.
