Itinerary

Day

1

Depart Heathrow on British Airways 1050, arriving Berlin 1340. Transfer to Hotel Albrechtshof for five nights. Evening performance at Berlin Philharmonie: Staatskapelle Berlin with Daniel Barenboim (conductor).

Day

2

Morning lecture followed by coach orientation and guided architectural tour: Potsdamer Platz, Checkpoint Charlie, Friedrichstrasse, Nikolaiviertel, Unter den Linden, Reichstag, new Parliament buildings and Brandenburg Gate. Afternoon performance at Berlin Opera: Parsifal.

Day

3

Morning lecture followed by Museum Island: Alte Nationalgalerie and free time to explore museums. Afternoon: performance at Berlin Philharmonie: Duo Recital.

Day

4

Morning lecture followed by free time with option to attend Easter Sunday church service or for further independent museum visits. Early evening performance at Berlin Opera: Falstaff.

Day

5

Morning: Grunewald Hunting Lodge. Early evening performance at the Deutsche Oper: Tannhäuser.

6

Depart Berlin 1645, arriving Heathrow 1745.
