Ian Cox, BA, MA, Cert Ed.
Ian had an initial career as a geographer but later developed a specialist interest in material culture and the history of the decorative arts. He has held senior posts in the History of Art department at Glasgow University and as Director of Studies at Christie's Education in London. For a number of years he acted as historical consultant to the Royal Crown Derby ceramics factory and published several books on their behalf. For many years he directed the Victorian Society of America London Summer School and the Christie's Decorative Arts Summer School in New York. As well as being a lecturer and tour director Ian is a travel writer and regular blogger.
